Before buying embryo genetics
Past catalogs help show the record, but a new sale can have a different quantity, guarantee, price, storage, or pickup terms.
Write down her registered name, number, pedigree, and the date on the record.
Match the exact sire and donor to the package you are buying.
Ask whether it is an IVF embryo, conventional embryo, flush, or pregnancy.
Confirm how many, the stated grade or quality, and any substitutions or exclusions.
Confirm where it is stored, how it is released, who pays shipping or pickup, and any other charges.
AICA states that donor cows and AI sires must be DNA tested before ET calves can be registered and that the flush date is required at registration.
Read AICA registration rulesPut the current pregnancy, flush, replacement, refund, or other guarantee in writing.
Confirm the total price, when payment is due, how long the offer lasts, and when the buyer can take possession or request release.
What each record shows
A registration identifies an animal. A catalog shows what was offered at a past sale. A completed result shows the displayed outcome. Call Tom to confirm what is for sale today.
Shows the consignor, lot, mating, quantity, and terms printed for that dated sale.
Shows the dated outcome and displayed price for each lot in that auction record.
Shows the animal identity and other registry facts displayed on the review date. Status, owner history, calf counts, and evaluations can change.
Ask Tom about embryos
